About Chartreuse Group

The story of Chartreuse Group stems from the resilience and passion of Kressoon Bokhoree, a humble tea grower who has passed on his dedication and entrepreneurial spirit to his successors.

A household name for tea in Mauritius, we are headquartered at Montée Lapeyre, Nouvelle France, a former hunting ground under French rule. The area was chosen in the mid-19th century by the British Governor, Sir John Pope Hennessy to revive tea cultivation in Mauritius.

While establishing a firm footprint in new business territories, our family enterprise has maintained a strong and durable emotional connection with tea production. Made from Camellia sinensis leaves, the rich flavours and powerful aromas of La Chartreuse tea have conquered nearly half of local market sales.
